Introduction

Hey all you fellow bloggers and those wondering what really goes on in Nursing School! I have decided to keep this blog to answer those questions and to, well... to have an outlet to look back on and vent on.

School starts in 7 days with the official orientation session where we will learn all about the program and such.

My journey began a little over a year ago when I was looking through the want ads and decided that the time had come for me to finally become the Nurse of childhood dreams and fascinations. So all sheets to the wind, all thrusts on forward, and away I went. I have been on this journey through the collegiate system since October of 2007. Not bad eh? To be where I am right now in such a short time? Of course I get the, " It's been a year you should be about done now right? " When was the last time you met anyone who'd gratuated college in a year?!? Sooo...

Although my goal is an RN and beyond, this adventure begins first with LPN school. this program is a terminally ending LPN program. I have on the other hand already taken almost all of my pre-reqs and co-reqs for direct entry into the Community College's RN Program. So with a few classes I can bridge into the RN or BSN programs nearby. And why am I in the LPN program if I have those done you ask? Well, obviously you have not begun the trek into Nursing School yet. Its quite the bear. Yet the reasons are simple, the waiting lists are long and I did not get called for the Spring semester into the program I applied to. Good news is that I did however, get picked from my second choice and hey lets face it A NURSE IS A NURSE IS A NURSE... no matter how I start the journey. I'm pretty damn glad I got off my butt and applied into that program too. I almost talked myself out of it. Procrastination is not my friend, but is my consantant companion.

All in all I am pretty anxious and freaked out right now... however, I can't wait to finally begin learning all those cool skills!!! I love the concept of giving injections!

Stay tuned...

  2. I often wonder why I didn't go the LPN-hence-sooner-to-work route. My ADN program doesn't offer the option to challenge the NCLEX-PN exam either...bummer!

    Congrats and good luck!
