GPA points make no sense

Apparently an A in a 2 credit ( why the hell is Pharmacology 2 credits anyway!!! ) course is equal to 8.00 GPA points... umm for anyone who knows that's like getting a B. Don't they know an A in this class was a 92% and higher!!

So does that mean that getting a B in a 5 credit course is like getting an A for GPA points? I doubt it!

  5. No I got an A but it doesn't boost my GPA as high as an A would normally. +12 is better than +8

  6. I know! I know! I've gotten two As and 3 Bs and I have something like a 3.2! My pharm class was only one credit...grr. I'm hoping to rock the summer classes I'm taking to help bring my GPA up. I wouldn't care except that our preceptorship is chosen based on GPA. Right now I'm not too picky, but if after doing more clinicals I really find something I want to do my P'ship in I want to have an edge up on it, ya know!?

  7. Exactly KLS! Ours is too and so are the Fellowships and in this job market some New Grad Nursing Programs are hiring based on GPA too! I know I'm crazy but it matters to me!
